Wolf for Help

March 28, 2009 at 11:44 am

In one of Naran S. Balakumar’s monthly classes, a person mentioned, that we have to erect a statue for Wolf. What is the reason behind her statement? Read the below case history, you will know why.

Case History

Pattabiraman was traveling with nine of his friends to Madurai. They boarded the train without any confirmed tickets. He called Wolf to help him to get the reservations for the unconfirmed tickets. Within one hour of the journey, each one of them got reserved seats.

In another occasion, Pattabiraman was traveling to Srirangam, along with seven senior citizens. All of them were occupying upper berths. They chanted Wolf continuously. Eventually, they got lower berths.

Many could get parking space for their cars, by calling Wolf to help. Just request it as you will request a friend. It will help you without fail. When you are in a tight situation and desperately looking for help, call upon Wolf. It will help you for sure.

Does Bhagavat Gita Encourage Casteism?

Living with Awareness Series Part I

Introduction

What does Krishna meant when he said, “Arjuna, you are a Kshatriya (warrior caste) and therefore your duty is to fight”. Do this Krishna’s words indicate that he believed in the caste system? (In ancient India there were four main castes – Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vysya and Sudra)

Naran S. Balakumar believes Krishna meant something else. Read this post to know the insights of Naran on this topic.

Different Castes in place

The beauty of human being is that a person can play different roles in life. The mind is a multi-faceted energy field. It thinks and analyses in parts.

When one part of the mind discusses, then it is the policy-maker within. The part of the mind that takes a decision after deep analysis based on darma, justice and fairness – rights and wrongs, is the Brahminical part. For some, it is the dominant part. The mind can take a decision in many ways, based on circumstances and environment. If one takes the decision based on dharma, we are activating the Brahminical part of the mind. We can call that part as the analytical or the logical part.

If you base the decision on anger and violence, you are activating the Kshatriya part of the mind. It is nothing but the military part (protection by fighting).

If you take the decision based on adjustments and compromises, you are activating the Vysya part (Vysya – trader).

If you cannot take a decision, and you depend on others (considered by us as superiors) for our decision, you are activating your Sudra part (submissive, indecisive part).

Thus, Caste is nothing but playing different roles in our lives.

Initiating Castes

How you are activating these parts? It is due to influence by desires coming out of Ego and Pride.

Desire to control belongs to Brahminical mind and Kshatriya mind. For the Brahminical part, ego is more dominant and for the Kshatriya part, pride is dominant. Desire for approval, appreciation or recognition is the Vysya part. Desire to feel more secured is there in all four parts. However, this is more in the Sudra part.

If a person predominantly takes a decision activating only one part, then that part of the mind becomes his personality. This is how Casteism was born. Many were responsible for bringing in castes in Indian society.

While walking on the path of healing let us not drag ourselves into confusion by thinking about caste, race and religion. They are aberrations of the society and let us ignore them.

“The Map is not the Territory.” people interpret any information they receive in their own unique way. This is the language of the brain which is pre-programmed (NLP) We are now over 6 billion people on this planet, and each one of us has a unique values, beliefs, capabilities, and behaviours, which influence the type of OUR COMMUNICATION. By respecting other people’s maps (views), we can move towards improving our communication skills and becoming our greater self. Coming back to the posting, it is the same intuition or divine intelligence which is operating through is operating through all. Any absolute truth, if it is filtered through a human brain, becomes partial. Whatever is said is his view and not absolute truth. The original Bhagavat Gita, the moment it enters the brain of any individual, is diluted and it is his view. In this world, anybody has freedom to express his views on Divine sermon. If so and so has written a book on the Divine sermon, anybody can read it. But one should never be inflexible in his views. A closed view is intolerance. No single view can give a full picture of Bhagavat Gita. That is why it is a divine sermon. Naran has expressed his view. He has neither imposed his view on any view, nor preventing anybody reading any book. Vyasa and Sanjaya are the only two persons, who did not filter Gita through their brains. They just expressed the full sermon verbatim. Flexibility and open mind will always make one move forward not only mentally and emotionally but also spiritually. Inquiring (turning the mind inward) is also a spiritual method, which leads to self-actualisation. Any discussion should direct us to the soul qualities.

Does Bhagavat Gita Promote Violence?

May 1, 2009 at 5:23 pm

Ramachandran

Why do you drag Bhagavat Gita in to this workshop on “Living with Awareness”? You as a healer talk about forgiveness, love and thanks, while Bhagavat Gita promotes violence. The Gita talks about Kshatriya Darma (warrior’s responsibilities), fighting, killing, etc. You seem to be contradicting.

Naran S. Balakumar

One can interpret Gita in many ways. There are so many criticisms, controversies and commentaries for Gita. This shows the popularity of the Bhagavat Gita.

How a healer should understand it? Gita does not promote violence. It promotes detachment.  It says, “Do your duty without attaching yourself to the mind”.

What does Krishna mean when he said, “Arjuna, you are a Kshatriya (warrior) and therefore your duty is to fight”. He categorically said that the battleground is a place of implementation and not a place for analysis.

Did Krishna Promote Violence

My answer to your question, “Did Krishna promote violence through Gita”, is “NO”.

Krishna said, “Arjuna, you had already taken a decision, based on Darma. This is the battleground, where one has to activate the Kshatriya part (military part) of the mind. The decision was taken already. The battleground is a place of implementation. A jawan should just carry out the orders of his superiors. The Jawan (soldier) should fight but cannot question the Major General. There is no right or wrong in the war front. Fight is the order. There is no violence in the war front. The Military mind is fighting to protect. Arjuna, your duty now is to fight. Activate that part. Deactivate other parts.”

Conclusion

Gita does not promote violence. It promotes detachment. “Do your duty without attaching yourself to the mind.”

If Arjuna asked his questions/doubts when Pandavas were deciding for war instead on the battleground, Krishna would have answered differently and different Gita would have been with us today.

During the discussion before the war Arjuna instead of activating his Brahminical part activated his Kshatriya mind and clamoured for war. Strangely, he activated his Brahminical part in the war front instead of his Kshatriya part. That is why today’s Gita was born!

How to Practice Living with Awareness in the way mentioned by Bhagavat Gita?

Practice Living Bhagavat Gita’s Way

May 8, 2009 at 11:21 am

Gita promotes detachment. “Do your duty without attaching yourself to the mind.”

What’s living with Awareness in this context?

Do your duty as per the requirement of the place you are in.  Do that duty without any expectation. When you do not think about the result while doing the duty, your contribution is 100% on what you are doing.

Do not allow the mind to vacillate between past and future.  Here past means emotions and thoughts generated just before the action, and future means the feelings that you will get after the completion of action.

Living with Awareness teaches how to take action without attaching to the result. It is a practical workshop.

How Do We React in Real Life

A man was riding a scooter. He crossed the signal inadvertently while it was red. He was stopped by a (Chennai) cop. How does he behave?

  1. If he says that he      would accept any penalty since he has committed wrong- he is activating      his Brahminical part.
  2. If he responds by      saying, “Do you know who I am? I am related to the minister of social      welfare. I am going to call him now!” and phones up – he’s activating the      Kshatriya part.
  3. If the same person      tries to bribe and escape, he is activating the Vysya part.
  4. The      same person escapes without stopping his vehicle at all. If he runs away      like this, then he is activating the Sudra part of his mind.

My Unfriendly Neighbour

May 19, 2009 at 5:02 am

Rule: Releasing Option is the Only Option

Shantha had a very unfriendly neighbour in Gita.

She never felt comfortable to approach Gita for any obligation as she is a very fussy person and gets easily irritated.

She Had a Visitor

One day she had a late night visitor. The guest didn’t give Shantha any notice, a norm in this part of the world.

Therefore, Shantha wasn’t ready to handle the situation. Of course, that doesn’t mean she can treat the guest shabbily.

Shantha wanted some stuff to make sure the dinner is special and a good treat for her guest. Unfortunately the shops were closed as it was late night.

Will My Friendly Neighbour Help?

She was sure that Gita could help. But will Gita oblige Shantha at this late hour, when she is so fussy during normal times.

So she had two options: one is to approach Gita and another is to apply the RULE on her emotions and thoughts about Gita. The later option seemed to be easier for Shantha.

She did the RULE for few minutes.

Then There Was One More Visitor

While she was doing the RULE guess what, she had another visitor. It was none other than Gita. Having seen the guest in Shantha’s house she was curious to find out whether she could be of any help to Shantha!!!

How Shantha Executed the RULE: Releasing Act

She had a conversation within herself.

Can I release the fear about Gita? Yes. I just release this fear now.

But there is some more fear. How much can I release – around 30%? No, may be 10%. Yes. I can release 10% of the remaining fear.

Can I release 10% more?

(Like wise, she could release 30% of her fears. Even then she was feeling uncomfortable.)

Release Predominant Thoughts About Situation

She watched her mind. Only one thought repeatedly was going on inside her mind, “Will Gita shout at me if I approach her for help?”.

Ok shall I release that thought part by part? “Yes I can”.

Will I first release the word “shout” from the thought? Yes, I can. I release the word “shout”.

Shall I release “will she “, yes I can. Therefore I release, “will she”.

What are the remaining words?

This question will put off the mind and the whole thought will vanish.

If we do this way, thought becomes meaningless and it will be released automatically.

Peace Dawns

After the words are released individually like this, she became immediately peaceful.

As soon as that happens, then enters our heroine Gita. Is there is a coincidence. Try it out, you will know.

Stories for Life Part 3: Rama and Zen Tea

May 19, 2009 at 8:13 pm 1 comment

Zen Tea

There is a story about a Zen Master.

The master was making tea.

A person known to him visited him. The Zen Master offered him tea.

Then a stranger visited him. The master offered him tea too.

Watching this, his neighbour asked, why he offered tea to them – for both known and unknown persons.

As a reply to him, the Zen master offered tea to this neighbour too.

A Depressed Patient

June approached Naran S. Balakumar as she was having bouts of depression.

She tapped while she listening to the story of the Zen Master. Within four rounds of tapping, her laughter shook the hall.

Benefits of Listening to Story of Rama’s Pilgrimage to the Forest

  1. To handle any      disappointments and failures in life.
  2. When you are not able      to accept something because of anger, or in general when you are seething      with anger/rage/fury, listen to the story and do tapping (EFT).
  3. When you are worrying      too much
  4. Basically it is a story      to accept what is happening to your life. This will bring in mental      healing in you, which is very essential to life. Please read the      explanation below.

When we suffer we feel why we have to go through it. After going through the bad experiences, we realise what  happened was right. Thus behind unhappiness we can find divine order as well as happiness.

Seeking pleasure and avoiding pain is the nature of mind. What is painful today may turn out to be pleasure tomorrow.

Therefore, accept totally whatever happens in your life. The  mere acceptance will bring in a state of calm – which is essential   to plan the next course of action.

Nobody can escape from doing something. Do whatever after  accepting it.

A mental state of unhappiness will only bring in more  unhappiness. To be happy, accept and be in a happy state, so as to find happiness in the events that occurs outside us.

Calming Influence

May 19, 2009 at 9:46 AM 1 comment

Tom was not able to sleep well as he has a tendency to feel excited during late nights. As per suggestion from Naran S. Balakumar, he put ten pills of Calming Pills in a bottle of water and sipped it from 6 PM onwards during regular intervals. He did Chakra Balancing too as it balances the excess energy in the head (indication for too much thinking). Within a week, he was able to see results.

Shobana, the Yoga Teacher: At one time I felt there are ten Shobanas within me. Calming Pills helped me to centre myself and be as one Shobana.

A Standing Instruction

May 19, 2009 at 9:46 AM 1 comment

Ravi, a Reiki Master had to buy train tickets. On an average one has to stand in the queue for more than an hour or two. He wasn’t fancying that option.

So he sought the help of the animal spirit guide Wolf. He gave a standing instruction to Wolf that he doesn’t want to stand in the queue for more than fifteen minutes.

He went to the railway station. To his surprise he found out of ten counters only three were occupied by people. The rest of the seven were not filled.  He did manage to buy the tickets in fifteen minutes.

Road Safety Mantra

May 19, 2009 at 9:46 AM 1 comment

Ken wanted to check whether animal spirit Wolf could be used for safety travel during travelling long-distance.

Interestingly while driving, he saw a pothole. However he could not stop driving the car hitting the pothole. The car got stuck. With the help of people around, he could get the car out.

So he thought that may be Animal Spirits won’t work as a preventive measure.

Naran S. Balakumar: knowingly he drove the car towards the pothole. This indicates the Bach Flower Remedy Chestnut Bud.

In Ken’s case there is no need for help (in advance) and so Wolf wasn’t required. Let us say he needs to find his directions, or has to get his hotel reservation done during a festival season or he needs a travel guide when he doesn’t know where to look for one, then Wolf would have helped him.

Wolf can’t prevent accidents. It can only help. That is what it did by getting the people to get his car out of the pothole. The Animal Spirit remedies, Bach Flower remedies, Gem remedies – all these vibratory remedies are highly specific. You cannot try remedy ‘A’ for situations that require remedy ‘B’. A traditional South-Indian cook who knows how to prepare iddly and dosa can’t be asked to make Pizzas. He will not be able to.

In Ken’s case, the Bach Flower Remedy combination that works very well for safety self-drive is Mimulus, Chestnut Bud and Impatiens.

A Magic Umbrella that Brings in Rain

June 14, 2009 at 6:37 pm

Rule: Be As You Want To Be!!!

A prayer for rains was organised in a church located in the middle of a desert.

Plenty of the local folks were present in the prayer hall.

The son of a poor cobbler, a four-year old child, wanted to attend too. Though, unlike others he brought an umbrella with him as he was sure the prayers will bring in rain.

And it did rain, for the Lord of the Rains didn’t want the little fellow to loose his FAITH.

God Appeared To Me

September 28, 2009 at 7:52 am

God Appeared To Me In The Form Of My Neighbours

Ramani lives in Avadi. She is a poor and a homemaker. She called me one day and said that somebody mentioned about me.

I asked her to visit me. She told me that she does not have money to travel or buy the pills I prescribe. Therefore, I asked her to chant the Bach Flower Remedies I prescribe. On and off she used to phone up to me and I will prescribe the remedies as per her expression.

When need is greatest, help is nearest

After six years of marriage, she became pregnant. She used to call me during pregnancy and chanted the flower remedies suggested by me. She called me just the day before she was expecting her first baby. She mentioned that there is nobody to help her nor can she afford to admit herself in a good hospital. In addition, her husband is busy working and so he will not be able to assist her either.

When need is greatest, help is nearest. Therefore, I prescribed her Bach Flower Remedy Sweet Chestnut. She chanted Sweet Chestnut. Soon after, four of her neighbours volunteered to help her. They admitted her in a hospital (CWC) and paid money for the delivery as well. She had a safe delivery.

Interestingly she’s yet to see me

Now she is calling me to handle the problems faced by her child. Interestingly, she had not met me yet. She is not taking the remedies either, but does chanting of flowers only.

Who connected her and me? Do I owe her anything? On the other hand, does she have any connections with me in anyway? Divinity has done it. Divinity is always with us, watches us and it controls everything. Nothing happens without a reason. If you can identify the reason, then healing happens for you. There is a temple in every street, for us to connect with divinity. When you are facing a problem, connect with divinity to solve it.

Handling a Bad Neighbour

October 13, 2009 at 4:47 am

Fear of getting a bad neighbour: Mimulus, the Bach Flower Remedy.

We could use Astrological signs for the same. Pisces is the sign you need. Cut the picture of the sign from a magazine and paste it on the door facing the neighbour. Then you will find a very good neighbour. This is a simple solution that can be followed instead of taking Mimulus.

Geetha had a neighbour who is fond of having noisy parties on a regular basis. She downloaded the picture of Pisces from Google and pasted it on the front door facing the neighbour. Soon after they become quite amicable. Less jarring music and even if they played music, they did inside closed doors. They became friendly and now they too want the picture of Pisces.

Protection from Electro-Magnetic Radiation Generated by Mobile Phones

October 13, 2009 at 12:43 pm

(Please note: the below discussion happened during the Workshop on Multi-Dimensional Healing Practices by Naran S. Balakumar on 22nd August)

We are bombarded with electro magnetic rays in the form of TV, Computers, mobile phones etc. We have to use these devices as they have become a necessity. Though, we have to escape from the radiation emitted by them.

These rays puncture our aura – the subtle energy field around us, which results in disease in various forms. Therefore, diagnosis is difficult, to find out the reasons behind a disease. When aura is cleansed properly, things like swine flu will not attack us.

How to Remove the Radiation

Take quarter spoon of bathing salt that is energised with gem stones (the bathing salt is available in the centre) and mix it in a bucket of water for bathing.  Every week, take this energised salt bath twice. Your entire aura will be cleansed. You will become powerful. Same water can be sprayed in the house too, to remove the radiation caused in the house.

Gem Stones Used for Protection Against Radiation

Black Tourmaline

Whenever we use a mobile phone, it creates holes in our aura and thus our health is affected. The electro-magnetic radiations are generated when we use Micro-oven, TV and computers too.

Any unwanted energy around will rebound on observing the picture of black tourmaline or if use them.

Fluorite

This breaks the blockages in the auric field created by electro-magnetic radiation.

Black Jet

Will help you prevent accidents. Have a picture of it in your car.

Jasper

This restores the bio rhythm of the body.

Diamond

This amplifies the energy inside us.

Sodalite

It harmonizes mental, etheric, physical and spiritual body.

Malachite

It cleanses each and every organ of the body – an organ cleanser. Thus it works like the Bach Flower Remedy Crab Apple.

Turquoise

This strengthens acupressure meridians or channels.

Instructions to use Gem Stones

Gems work for the wellbeing of the humanity. Each and every one of them serves a specific purpose. If you can afford them, buy them and keep them with you. However, there are more than 1000 gem stones that can be used for healing purposes. It doesn’t make sense to buy them all, even if you can afford it.

Of course, you don’t have to purchase any gem stones to get their healing benefits. Just download pictures of the gems from internet or get them from the Centre. Look at the picture(s), whenever you can. As your eyes sees the picture, the energy of the gem stones observed, is well received by your auric field, and then to the mind influencing it as well. There are pills made out of gem stones too at the Centre.

My Buddy, Your Time Has Come

December 28, 2009 at 2:25 am

Vallabam Gajaananam Yeka Thandham

It is a very powerful mantra. Especially it works on the hips, for example when you are standing for a long time your hip will pain. You will find plenty of time to do any task. Time will be at your disposal. Physically it helps to handle skin related problems.

A single tusker Elephant!

How time is available at your disposal? Why Gajananam (Lord Vinayaga) was called Eka Thandham (an elephant with one tusker)? When Vyasa wanted to write Mahabharata he was searching for somebody who can put it in paper as fast as he dictates. The concerned person should understand the subject as well, without stopping the dictation by interfering it. He should understand and never ask to repeat again what was already said (Vallapam).

Vinayaga was the only person who offered to do the job. In the midst of writing the pen got broke. Imagine how much he would have written by then! He couldn’t find another writing pen nearby. Therefore, he broken one of his tuskers and used it as a pen.

Opening up to the divine time

This mantra makes a person to value time.

‘Time didn’t come yet for our daughter to get married’, is the expression of some parents. There is always a difference between our time and divine time. We don’t know it. Therefore, we become impatient. We start believing in what the astrologer says. We approach them to find out when the time will come for us. To open up to the divine time chant this mantra.

Waiting for a Good Result

“I have applied for the job. Yet I haven’t received a call for the job interview. I don’t know when it will come for me!” Wherever you think time has to come, think and chant this mantra.

I have created this mantra based on Lum and Vum bija mantras.
